At around 9:15 PM, Dhaka-bound vehicles continued to rush along major highways across Bangladesh as thousands of people waited in severe winter cold, driven by urgent work, medical needs, and family responsibilities.

Despite dropping temperatures and dense fog in some areas, long-distance buses, trucks, and private vehicles were seen moving steadily toward the capital. For many travelers, reaching Dhaka on time is critical for earning a livelihood, accessing healthcare, or maintaining employment.

Along the highways, large numbers of passengers—mostly workers, small traders, and service holders—were observed standing for long periods, hoping to board vehicles. Many lacked adequate winter clothing, yet remained patient, citing the necessity of reaching Dhaka overnight.

Traffic experts warn that winter night travel increases road risks due to poor visibility, slippery surfaces, and driver fatigue. They urge both drivers and passengers to remain cautious and follow traffic rules to prevent accidents.

The nightly movement of Dhaka-bound vehicles also plays a vital role in keeping the capital’s economy running, as cargo trucks deliver essential goods and workers return to factories, offices, and service centers.

Authorities have been urged to improve roadside safety, lighting, and passenger facilities to reduce hardship for winter
